Rock + Feather

The curatorial vision of ROCK + FEATHER is to highlight the earthly and the ethereal nature of art itself. Rock brings us closer to the Earth and Feather connects us with the sky. As human beings we have a unique ability to look deep inside the caverns of ourselves and to see far beyond the veil we call sky. In many ways, the things we do, (including but not limited to) our creative and artistic pursuits, come through us rather than from us. We are merely messengers who have honed our crafts in order to transpose it - onto a canvas, into a piece of jewelry, or to mold it into a sculpted form - with our human hands and abilities. We live on Earth but our souls straddle two worlds, living in the earthly world, and yet tethered to the etherial realm. This connection we embody is grounded here on Earth with gravity and the physical form of rock and reaches up towards the sky through the feathers shaft and infinitely beyond what we can see and comprehend. With art, we can allow for the transmutation of these otherworldly experiences into tangible images and forms for the physical world.
