Located in Albuquerque, N.M., Rio Grande High School has been operational for more than 20 years. The school enrolls more than 500 students in the grades nine through 12. Rio Grande High offers a wide variety of learning procedures and methodologies, including readalouds, shared and guided reading, word study, mini lessons, spelling program, poetry sessions, interactive writing, writer s workshop, special handwriting classes, reading buddies, Houghton-Mifflin math program and programs using cubes, number cards, number lines and pattern shapes. The school s teachers utilize full-inclusion model, ongoing assessments, individualized lesson plans, modified materials and class arrangements, grade-level conferences and parent communication.
