I came here on a whim to explore the mountains close up. This is a fee area of $5 per car, but if you have an annual National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass it's a participating site....
They have great prices and you get a discount if you're from out of state! Then when you go back you get an additional 10% off.
Many trails to walk and explore. La Cueva was very interesting. Staff at the Visitor Center were helpful and knowledgeable. We look forward to hiking more trails in the future...
