City of Las Cruces Public Works Department is located in Las Cruces, N.M. The department provides planning, engineering and construction of the city's public infrastructure, maintenance and operation of city streets, sidewalks, drainage, lighting and traffic systems. Its contracts administration section administers construction and maintenance contracts and permits for roadway, utility, drainage systems and traffic improvement. It provides administrative services and support related to city-owned properties to assess boundaries and administer purchase, disposal and leasing of city owned real property. The department provides various projects on design of roadway, street lighting, traffic signals, storm drain, water, wastewater and natural gas systems. It additionally offers transportation environment for vehicular and pedestrian traffic through the installation, maintenance and operation of the city street and drainage systems. The department also installs and maintains traffic control signage, pavement markings, traffic calming devices, traffic signals and roadway street lighting.
