La Clinica De Familia was started in Las Cruces as a Community and Migrant Health Center of the statewide Health Education Livelihood Program, which administers Migrant Head Start programs. La Clinica De Familia conducts health and social services programs that are partly funded by the Department of Health and Human Services and the New Mexico Department of Health. It operates various medical and dental centers. La Clinica De Familia offers diagnosis and treatment, immunizations, minor in-office surgeries, family planning, diabetes, and migrant and behavioral health education. It also provides health-related prenatal and parenting education for the parents of teenagers and prevention of domestic violence, as well as conducts screenings and assessments for infants and toddlers. Established in 1978, the organization is affiliated by The Joint Commission.
