Arch Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department

The Arch Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department, established in 1990, serves the Arch community in southeastern Portales, New Mexico. Covering approximately 95 square miles of rural area, their team of 22 volunteers responds to emergency calls including fires, vehicle extrication, and medical services.

The Milnesand Volunteer Fire Department, operating since 1979, covers a vast area of 600 square miles in southern Roosevelt County. With 14 volunteer firefighters and EMTs, they serve a population of 200 and respond to emergencies in a district that encompasses 375 structures spread across farmland and ranches.
