Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority

Founded in 2003, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA) is one of the largest water utilities in New Mexico. It is a joint agency of the City of Albuquerque and the County of Bernalillo. The authority provides water and wastewater services for the greater Albuquerque metropolitan area. ABCWUA has nearly 500 employees. The authority maintains more than 172,000 customer accounts and represents over 520,000 water users. It owns approximately 95 wells that pump up to 30 billion gallons of water every year. ABCWUA has more than 2,500 miles of water supply pipeline and over 1,700 miles of sewer collector pipeline. The authority offers sewage treatment and water conservation services.
