This includes counseling patients on preventive care, educating on contraception, and discussing pregnancy plans, but I have a particular interest in laparoscopic procedures, she adds.Dr. Patel Batra understands the feelings of anxiety that can accompany a womans first OB/GYN visit, and so she strives to make her patients feel as comfortable and informed as possible. I want my patients to feel they can fully open up to me because open communication and trust on both sides is critical to positive health outcomes, she says. As a woman and a mother, I have experienced some of the same situations and concerns as many of my patients. My son was born premature and spent three months in the NICU. Because of that experience, Im able to relate to the range of emotions a patient may be feeling. Dr. Patel Batra enjoys developing relationships with her patients that will last through multiple stages of their care. My profession not only affords me opportunities to care for others, but it also allows me to share in some of their most joyous moments, says Dr. Patel Batra. And that only makes me love what I do even more.Dr. Patel Batra was inspired by her fathers passion for his work in the medical field and his tried and true dedication to building his own practice. Being exposed to his work from a young age and witnessing his genuine care for each of his patients, primed her well for the career she chose. When not caring for patients, Dr. Patel Batra enjoys cooking a variety of cuisines and baking special cakes each year for her sons birthday.
