Battery 223 is a historical World War II coastal gun battery located in Cape May Point, New Jersey, constructed between 1942 and 1943 as part of the Harbor Defense of the Delaware. This reinforced concrete structure originally housed two 6-inch rapid-fire guns mounted on shielded barbette carriages, designed to replace obsolete coastal defenses and enhanced by various support facilities including shell and powder rooms, a plotting room, and more.

Deactivated in 1947, Battery 223 served as a U.S. Navy radio transmitter station during the Korean War before being decommissioned in 1963. Today, the site remains largely exposed, with only the gun pads buried, serving as a poignant reminder of its historical significance in coastal defense.
