Women Rising

WomenRising is a community-based organization for women. It assists women and their families to achieve self-sufficiency and live safe through social services, economic development and advocacy services. Its counseling services address the needs of families who are experiencing traumas, such as divorce, death of a family member and prolonged illness. The center operates various programs, such as family microloan, family advocacy, youth entrepreneurs and family visitation programs. Its group home program provides various services to females, such as educational, vocational and social skills. Additionally, it offers various recreational and health activities. The center s family advocacy program provides in-home counseling to prevent out-of-home placements. Its counselor s also assists women in management skills and is located in Jersey City, N.J.
