The Whippany Burying Yard, located in Whippany, NJ, is the oldest graveyard in north central New Jersey, dating back to 1718. It holds the distinction of containing the oldest dated colonial artifacts in Morris County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This hallowed public land is the final resting place of two of Morris County's first governing judges and numerous Revolutionary War soldiers.

Originally donated by John Richards, the Burying Yard encompasses over 300 marked graves, with an additional 150 individuals memorialized in unmarked graves. While legally publicly owned, the graveyard is interpreted to be granted to the Christian friends and neighbors in Whippanong. It was formerly maintained by the Whippany Cemetery Association until its transfer to the Township of Hanover in 1976.
