Suburban Vaults & Monuments
Suburban Vaults & Monuments, founded in 1967 by Clyde F. Brooks Jr. and his wife Carrie F. Brooks, holds the distinction of being the first African American-owned vault and monument company in New Jersey. The business, initially established in Jefferson, relocated to its current location at 203 Sherman Avenue in Newark in 1968, where it continues to serve the community today.
With over 50 years of service, Suburban Vaults & Monuments is dedicated to providing headstones and vault services across Northern and Central New Jersey, as well as parts of New York. The legacy of the founders is carried on by their sons, Clyde F. Brooks III and Christopher A. Brooks, alongside Senior Operator Avery Hill and a dedicated support staff.
