Samuel S Fleisher Art Memorial

Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, founded in 1898, is an art school for adults and children. Its educational program includes instruction in the visual arts, exhibitions, concerts, and interpretation of historic buildings and permanent collection. It offers figure and acrylic painting, etching, silkscreen, narrative imaging, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and ceramics. It organizes exhibitions to display the works of its artists. The school rents its facility for events, such as small weddings, meetings, recitals and concerts, and can accommodate more than 130 people. It is administered by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Its programs are supported in by the Samuel S. Fleisher Trust, grants from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Independence Foundation, Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Philadelphia Cultural Leadership Program, and donations from more than 2,000 student members and friends. Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial is located in Philadelphia.
