River Vale Volunteer Ambulance
The River Vale Volunteer Ambulance Corps has been serving the Township of River Vale in northern Bergen County since 1957. Comprised of approximately 20 volunteers from various backgrounds, they staff 2 Basic Life Support ambulances and are available around the clock to respond to emergency calls. As a completely volunteer organization, they rely on the generosity of residents and visitors to fund their services and maintain their equipment and facilities.
Membership in the River Vale Volunteer Ambulance Corps is open to community residents aged 16 and older, regardless of their level of experience in EMS. They provide comprehensive training, including CPR and EMT courses, and offer monthly accredited in-house continuing medical education. Members are expected to be available for duty one designated day or evening per week and one weekend day per month. While most members reside in River Vale, some live in neighboring towns.
