Ringwood Manor State Park in Ringwood, NJ is a National Historic Landmark District that offers a unique glimpse into American history. With its rich historical importance spanning from Native American occupation to the early 20th century, the park showcases original structures, gardens, and landscapes on 582 acres, along with extensive collections that depict family life, community, industry, and culture.
Formerly a summer estate for partners Peter Cooper and Abram S. Hewitt and their families during the Gilded Age, Ringwood Manor was donated to the State of New Jersey in 1938 as a museum and state park. Today, it is a central part of Ringwood State Park and is administered by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Parks and Forestry.
