Project Self Sufficiency

Established in 1982, Project Hospitality is a private nonprofit organization that provides health care and social services for underserved and disadvantaged people, as well as individuals who suffer from multiple diagnoses, such as HIV, substance abuse and mental illnesses. It serves the medical and housing needs of more than 5,000 individuals annually. Project Hospitality has a staff of over 300 personnel and nearly 600 student, community, religious and corporate volunteers. It offers treatment, case management and community-based residential services. The organization provides crisis intervention, referral, clinical care and health status assessment services. Additionally, it also provides chemical dependency prevention, outreach, meal and nutritional counseling services. Project Hospitality is located in Staten Island, N.Y.

Hudson Milestones, formerly known as Hudson Association for Retarded Citizens, is a community-based agency that serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The agency serves people with developmental disabilities throughout the Hudson County in New Jersey. It operates through administration, children and family services, early intervention services, residential services and adult activities departments. Hudson Milestones early intervention services department provides specialized therapeutic services for children and families, and employs special educators, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, social workers and paraprofessionals. The agency s adult training center programming emphasizes community-based activities, such as traveling, social and recreational visits, and referral and linkage to mental health services.
