AmerisourceBergen is one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical services providers. The company provides branded pharmaceuticals, generic pharmaceuticals, biotech and specialty drugs, over-the-counter remedies and health and beauty aids to independent retail pharmacies, national and regional chains, hospitals, clinics, pharmacy benefit managers, prescription mail order facilities, physician offices and long-term care facilities. David Yost has been the chief executive officer of AmerisourceBergen for more than nine years. He has been with the medical and health care company for over 32 years. Yost earned a BS degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and a MBA from the University of California-Los Angeles. AmerisourceBergen has 43 distribution centers providing daily delivery in the United States.

Sandoz reported sales in 2004 were $3 billion and employed approximately 13,400 people in more than 110 countries. Sandoz is a leading global supplier of high-quality generic pharmaceuticals. A generic pharmaceutical product is the bioequivalent of a brand name pharmaceutical. This includes dosage form, safety, strength, route of administration, quality, performance characteristics and intended use. Generic pharmaceuticals are held to the same rigid standards as the innovator product, as dictated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies throughout the world. Although generic pharmaceuticals are chemically identical to their branded counterparts, they traditionally cost consumers less than the brand product.
