The West Orange Municipal FCU is a member owned not-for-profit financial institution. It is chartered, examined and insured by the U.S. federal government through the National Credit Union Administration. What sets us apart from other institutions is, as a member-owned financial cooperative, we return our earnings back to our members in the form of higher dividends and lower interest rates on loans. The goal of the founders of WOMFCU was to provide a range of financial services tailored to meet the unique needs of our members. Chartered in 1955 to serve the fire fighters and police officers of West Orange, our field of membership has now expanded to serve over fifteen employee groups and associations. If you are employed by one of the businesses or are a member of one of the associations listed below you are in our field of membership. As an added benefit, members of your immediate family are also eligible for membership in the credit union once you have joined. Immediate family is defined to include parents, siblings, grandparents, spouse and children. Our charter also contains the provision, once a member, always a member . That means once you join the credit union you may remain a member for life regardless of where you may live or work in the future.
