Jeffrey Okun, MD is a member of Summit Health's Gastroenterology department. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Okun is an accomplished researcher with several academic publications. As a researcher at Columbia University Medical Center, he studied outcomes related to liver and lung transplantation. He has sat on education and curriculum committees as a fellow at Montefiore Medical Center and served as a member of the Fellow's Committee of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.Dr. Okun is a member of several professional societies: the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Medical Association.Dr. Okun treats a wide array of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. His approach to care is to develop a partnership with his patients and to make sure all involved are comfortable with a treatment plan. He adheres to the philosophy of treating an individual, not just a medical condition. While not seeing patients, Dr. Okun enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, biking, and traveling.

Howard Baum

Howard B. Baum, MD, FACP, specializes in a wide range of gastrointestinal problems, including liver diseases, digestive diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic hepatitis C. He has helped organize the Team Tobago Soccer Exchange, which enabled elite soccer players from Tobago to compete with top northern New Jersey soccer teams.
