The Scotch Plains Business and Professional Association (SPBPA) was founded in 1994 by local business owner Ray Pardon and a group of individuals to address the need for a business organization in town. Today, the SPBPA boasts over 90 members and operates as a non-profit organization with a focus on community reinvestment and networking opportunities.

Through various initiatives such as the Scotch Plains Farmers Market, networking meetings, and scholarship programs for high school graduates, the SPBPA plays a vital role in enhancing communication and promoting local businesses in Scotch Plains.
