In recognition of the need for women everywhere, including New Jersey, to take firmer control of their futures and their families' futures - in a world that is still not equally balanced between the opportunities and rewards provided men and women - for equal efforts in many aspects of their personal and professional lives. Prior to launching Garden State Woman Judy headed for many years, along with her husband, the highly successful Walnut Farm - a thoroughbred horse breeding farm and racing stable. Garden State Woman, Inc launched in 1998 as a publisher of a quarterly magazine aimed primarily at New Jersey corporate, professional and business owning women. Over the years, under Judy Chapman's leadership, Garden State Woman expanded services provided to New Jersey women into: hosting financial and health conferences and networking events ; publishing annual financial and health guides ; developing an information rich web site at www.gswoman.com and creating the Garden State Woman Education Foundations501 ( c ) 3. One objective of the Foundation is to generate scholarship and mentoring support for exceptional, motivated and bright young women graduating from New Jersey's inner city high schools and attending 4 year New Jersey colleges and universities.
