Through her work in preventive care, treatment, and education, she takes pride in watching her patients grow and thrive while empowering them to manage their own health.Dr. Shahs ambitions also include pursuing more cultural competence within the field of health care. While working on a research project during her residency, she discovered knowledge gaps and opportunities for providers serving culturally diverse patient populations and is interested in furthering work in this space.In her free time, Dr. Shah enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and baking. She is passionate about nutrition, exercise, and raising awareness about social determinants of health.

Reintine Han, MD is a member of Summit Healths Family Medicine team. Dr. Han provides individualized health care for a diverse patient base from newborns to the elderly. Her special interests include preventative medicine with a focus on nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management as well as womens heath, including Pap smears and IUD (intrauterine device) placement and removal.Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Han spent several years working in finance. Despite her success, she felt unfulfilled. I wanted a career where I could feel like I was making a difference in the lives of others, she says. Being a family medicine doctor fulfills this goal.Dr. Han completed her residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside where she served as Chief Resident and was recognized as Diplomat of Family Medicine for her consistent professional performance and enthusiastic commitment to the residency program. She also received the George W. Miller Scholar Award, which recognizes creativity and curiosity that helps foster an environment of academic excellence.Dr. Han wants her patients to be able to live full and healthy lives, something she works at by keeping their uniqueness in mind and taking time to learn their health history, habits, hobbies, and goals. Whether they are attending prom, getting married, or having children, Id like to be there for them to keep them at their best, she says.Dr. Hans passion for increasing early education in developing countries inspired her efforts in helping to build a library with an accompanying literacy program for impoverished Antiguan schoolchildren. She is also a supporter of Hounds in Pounds, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs.When not caring for patients, Dr. Han enjoys traveling to new countries and learning about other cultures. She most recently traveled to the East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania. She also enjoys catching up on her favorite Netflix shows and movies and spending quality time with her husband and rescue dog, Bucky.
