History

Gemsmith is a family owned and operated business. Approximately 40 years ago, Elaine and William Schoenfeld opened their first jewelry store in Manasquan, N.J. When Gemsmith was built in Toms River, it became the sister store to the original Metalorgy. Bill and Elaine became grandparents in 1999, however Metalorgy was closed in order to spend more time with the little people. Ketti Schoenfeld, daughter to Bill and Elaine, came into the family business in 2002 and designs for Gemsmith today.
