Richard D. Rhim, MD is part of Summit Healths Orthopedic Spine Surgery team. Dr. Rhim is a board certified and fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in spine surgery in adults and treats cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. Dr. Rhim also treats herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, spinal fractures, failed prior back surgery (with revision surgery), spine trauma, and routinely performs lumbar fusion, cervical fusion, and cervical disc replacement.Dr. Rhims treatment philosophy centers on compassionate, conservative, evidence-based care. In addition to clearly explaining a patients condition and treatment options, he feels it is critical to conclude an appointment with optimism that something can be done to alleviate pain or even correct the problem. Where possible, I pursue nonoperative treatment first, reserving surgical care only for those who do not experience adequate pain relief," Dr. Rhim says.Dr. Rhim is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).When he is not treating patients, Dr. Rhim enjoys skiing, playing ice hockey, photography, and traveling.

Carissa Meyer, MD is a member of Summit Healths Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Dr. Meyer is a board certified, fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in operative and nonoperative treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the hand and upper extremities in patients of all ages. In addition to fracture and other trauma, Dr. Meyer treats overuse injuries and tendonitis, including trigger finger, nerve compression such as carpal tunnel, arthritis, TFCC (triangular fibrocartilage complex) injuries, tennis and golf elbow, Dupuytren's contracture as well as all pediatric conditions, including congenital hand differences. Dr. Meyer is also extremely passionate about educating on carpal tunnel syndrome and dispelling some common misconceptions around the condition and its treatment. Dr. Meyer's care approach is to integrate each patient's unique experience with her expertise and evidence-based medicine to develop an effective treatment plan that addresses their individual needs. "Providing the best, most effective care I can, while also ensuring my patient feels comfortable with the proposed plan, is of utmost importance to me," Dr. Meyer says.Dr. Meyer is an avid runner and has run several marathons. She also enjoys healthy cooking and hiking.

Connor McAuley, PA-C is a member of Summit Healths Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Mr. McAuley works as a physician assistant in the orthopedic surgery department, where he treats a wide range of orthopedic issues, including tendon repairs, wound closures, injections, and fracture management.Graduating Magna Cum Lauda from Seton Hall University, Mr. McAuley has a strong academic background with an emphasis on traditional science. He believes in collaborative patient care management and enjoys helping patients understand why their treatment plan is the best option for them. He says, My main goal is to help create a noticeable difference in a patient's quality of life postoperatively.When not caring for patients, Mr. McAuley enjoys playing golf and soccer, and running. He also volunteers as a fundraiser for area food banks.
