I am interested in helping and understanding others. My ideal client would be someone who is willing to take the necessary time to educate me about him or herself and who would be willing to reflect on events involved inside and outside of the therapy session. I can provide advice, problem solve, and address dysfunctional cognitions, but prefer to work in a relational psychodynamic approach where techniques from different therapeutic modalities can be integrated if needed. I believe everyone can benefit from building a positive therapeutic relationship where problems can be worked through and their meanings understood. I work psychodynamically. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. My specialties and areas of interest include: grief and loss, trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse and/ or neglect, relationship problems, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and adjustment disorders. I am a Brazilian psychologist with two Masters and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. I speak and write fluent Portuguese and English. I have a moderate understanding of Spanish. I am not a member of any insurance panel but do offer a sliding scale.
