History
Dr. Edward Liva started his ophthalmology practice in Ridgewood in 1957 and was joined in practice by his son Douglas in 1986 opening a new location in Paramus. Dr. Douglas Liva build a new office in Ridgewood on Rt. 17 and Franklin Turnpike to update the design and offer a more efficient layout to accommodate a vast array of diagnostic equipment and lasers. Dr. Liva's great uncle Archangelo was the first ophthalmologist in NJ.

Liva Eye Center offers comprehensive ophthalmic and optometric services to diagnose and treat medical and optical conditions of the eye. Dr. Liva performs most types of ophthalmic surgery including cataract surgery and lasik. He also performs laser surgery to lower the intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients. Liva eye center has moved to a new location to accommodate the recent diagnostic and laser technologies available to diagnose and treat eye conditions . We also offer contact lens fitting and dispensing. In addition, we have an optical shop and optician on premises with an extensive selection of frames.
