Scott H. Hanan, MD, specializes in surgery for soft-tissue tumors, diseases of the intestinal tract, and hernias. In addition, Dr. Hanan has expertise in anterior approaches to the spine for degenerative disc disease, deformities, malignancies, and infections.Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Hanan practiced privately in New York City. He was an attending surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital, where he treated surgery patients and those with chronic wounds. Recognized as a leader in anterior approaches to the spine, Dr. Hanan has trained surgeons in techniques for lumbar disc replacement."I believe that understanding my patients' concerns and goals is key to giving them the outstanding treatment they want and deserve. Connecting with them as individuals and making them feel comfortable throughout their treatment is among the most gratifying aspects of being a surgeon."Dr. Hanan's research interests include operative and reoperative strategies and anterior spinal surgery. He is the coauthor of articles and abstracts on these and related topics, which are published in Journal of Surgical Oncology, Journal of Immunotherapy, and American Journal of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American College of Physician Executives.When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Hanan enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing and coaching youth hockey, fishing, and being outdoors.

Jaclyn Wiener, DO, FAAP, specializes in comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents. Her expertise includes well-child care, immunizations, developmental assessments, preventive care, behavioral and emotional guidance, and diagnoses and treatment for acute and chronic illness. Dr. Wiener works with families to customize care so that it meets each of her patient's unique needs.Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Wiener practiced in primary care for more than 5 years. She also has been an attending physician at Hoboken University Medical Center and Palisades Medical Center.Dr. Wiener says, "I believe in partnering with my patients' families to support each patient and the family unit, maintain the highest standard of health care, and help parents raise their children. To help achieve these goals, I work to build long-term, trusting professional relationships with my patients, their families, and surrounding communities."Dr. Wiener is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians.When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Wiener enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as hiking, running, dancing, and cooking new dishes.
