Johansen General Contracting's humble origins started with its founder, John Johansen, who began working as a construction apprentice at the age of 16. By the age of 18, Mr. Johansen became a union carpenter and worked at the Newport Towers in Jersey City. His services involved building or repairing kitchen cabinets, trims, closets and doors.
As years passed, Mr. Johansen advanced to sheet rock and metal framing at Dixon Mills. From 1990 to 1997, Mr. Johansen
