Jewish Educational Center

North Ward Center is located in the former William Clark House that was built in 1879. Its mission is to provide educational, cultural and social service programs to low income families residing in Essex County in Newark, N.J. The nationally registered historic mansion provides senior citizen transportation, youth and family outreach, a workforce foundation, after school enrichment, community affairs activities and diversity and cultural awareness. North Ward plays a major role in helping overcome barriers that prevent self-sufficiency and assist people in neighborhood revitalization by helping them become tax-paying citizens who are educated, responsible and productive members of society.

St. Gregory the Great School is a Catholic elementary educational institution that has been operational since 1953. The school offers academic programs for students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. St. Gregory the Great School organizes before- and after-school care programs. The school s academic curriculum includes religion, math, science, social studies and language arts. It also conducts physical education classes. St. Gregory the Great School features art, book and music clubs. It operates school band and orchestra. The school supports a range of sports activities, such as soccer, basketball, baseball, cheerleading, swimming and volleyball.
