Jersey Shine Moonshine

History

Moonshine in New Jersey has a storied history; whether you picture the infamous gangsters who smuggled in booze along the South Jersey waterways or the farms that stashed the liquor before its transport to Atlantic City. Jersey Shine Moonshine can boast a connection with this notorious past through family history. Founder and master distiller, Carl Coombs' family had a farm on the river where they would hide liquor in the barns during Prohibition. Using old family moonshine recipes, East Coast Distilling is bringing moonshine back to New Jersey. East Coast Distilling takes a modern approach to moonshine, distilling a 40-proof spirit which softens the sting usually associated with the drink, making Jersey Shine dangerously drinkable!

Specialties

Jersey Shine produces a line of flavored moonshines, which is a grain neutral spirit infused with all natural fruit juices. Currently, we produce five flavored moonshines: Apple Pie, Black Cherry, Cranberry, Lemonade and Strawberry. The Tasting Room features weekend tours with tastings/cocktails.
