James Pritsiolas, MD, FASN, is a member of Summit Health's Nephrology Department and Chronic Care Center. He has lectured widely in Nephrology to various groups, including to Physicians, Residents, Medical Students, Nurses, as well as community organizations.

Dr. Pritsiolas joins our team from CarePoint Health Medical Group. Prior to that, he was Partner at The Hypertension and Renal Group with offices in Livingston and Bayonne, NJ. He has an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School and was previously Chief of Nephrology at CarePoint Health - Bayonne Medical Center. Dr. Pritsiolas is certified as a Hypertension Specialist, having successfully passed the American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program which identifies him as having expert skills and mastery of knowledge in the management of clinical hypertension and related disorders.

Dr. Pritsiolas has received numerous honors and awards, including being listed in "Top Doctors (Nephrology)" by Inside Jersey (a Star-Ledger Magazine), New Jersey Monthly Magazine, and Castle Connolly. He has also received Teaching Awards from Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

When he is not busy caring for patients, Dr. Pritsiolas enjoys spending time with good friends and family and spending as much time as he can near the ocean.

He has delivered research presentations for the American Diabetes Association and Endocrine Society.For each consecutive year since 1997, Dr. Silverman has been featured in the Castle Connolly "Top Doctors" and "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area" listings. Dr. Silverman's top doctor listings have been reprinted in US News and World Report and Inside Jersey.
