Gregory Pinkowsky, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon serving on Summit Healths Orthopedic team. Dr. Pinkowsky has had extensive training and life experience in many aspects of orthopedic surgery, including sports medicine.In addition to 10 peer-reviewed journal publications and three published textbook chapters, Dr. Pinkowsky has given numerous presentations on various orthopedic topics on a local and national level. Additionally, he has conducted significant research in sports medicine topics related to the knee, shoulder and elbow.Dr. Pinkowsky specializes in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery, ligament reconstruction and cartilage restoration procedures of the knee and shoulder. He has advanced knowledge of complex rotator cuff repairs, instability repair and revision cases. He is currently the team physician for the Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield.Following his residency, Dr. Pinkowsky completed a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, the leader in providing comprehensive care for orthopedic and sports-related injury and illness. During that time, Dr. Pinkowsky had the opportunity to assist in covering the medical needs of famous Los Angeles teams, including the Dodgers, Lakers and Kings.Dr. Pinkowsky was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey and is proud to serve the needs of his home state.

My goal is to help patients with the least invasive approaches possible.Dr. Garcias research is focused on shoulder injuries in the throwing athlete and biological approaches to tendon and bone healing. He is the co-author of articles, abstracts and book chapters that are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Orthopedics and has lectured regionally and nationally on these topics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Amerian Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America.Dr. Garcia is a recipient of the UMDNJ- New Jersey School of Medicine Deans Letter of Commendation for Clinical Excellence and while Chief Resident of orthopedics he earned the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. He has been featured in NJ Top Docs and the New Jersey Monthly Top Doctors listing multiple times and is the recipient of the MDx Medical, Inc., Patients Choice and Most Compassionate Doctor Award.When he is not working, Dr. Garcia enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons, who are very active playing football, baseball, hockey, lacrosse and basketball. Dr. Garcia also enjoys coaching, weightlifting, Crossfit training and playing the drums.
