Links & Resources Martek Pharmacal Co was founded in 1969 by my father, Andy Steck. Initially he covered the New York Metropolitan area, personally delivering medications to the majority of his customers. In addition to offering competitive pricing, he knew that providing excellent service to each customer was equally important. As the company expanded beyond the New York Metropolitan area, my mother became involved in the daily operations (A true "mom and pop" company). After graduating college, I began working for a major corporation, but always remained involved in my parents' business. In 1996, my parents decided to retire, and I took over full-time operations. Over the past 10 years, the company has continued to expand, and we relocated to a larger facility in Toms River, NJ. As the business grew, I brought in my two nephews, Jon and Nick, instilling in them the same business principles and ethics my father had instilled in me. In March of 2009 my brother-in-law John (Jon and Nick's father) also joined us. Today, we continue to provide each customer with the excellent service that this company was founded on.
