The Milltown Fire Department, established on February 22, 1911, initially began as The Eureka Fire Company No. 1. After a reorganization in 1922, it operates today with two companies—Eureka Engine Company No. 1 and Eureka Hose Company No. 1—both located at Fire Headquarters on Washington Avenue.

This volunteer organization is governed by a Board of Fire Officers and relies on funding from the Borough of Milltown, supplemented by various fundraising events throughout the year. Proceeds from these efforts not only support the department's operational expenses but also benefit community initiatives, such as youth sports sponsorships and scholarships for high school seniors.
