Englewood Volunteer Ambulance
The Englewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC) has been providing emergency basic life support to the people of Englewood, NJ since its establishment in 1954. As a nonprofit organization, EVAC relies on donations and city funds to operate and is staffed by over 30 dedicated volunteers, mostly EMTs, who ensure the organization's professionalism and reliability in handling the nearly 3,000 annual 911 calls received.
EVAC's state-certified Emergency Medical Technicians and First Responders continually improve and renew their training to handle any medical emergency that may arise. Working in collaboration with the Englewood Police Department, Englewood Fire Department, and local hospitals' Mobile Intensive Care Units, EVAC ensures that every patient receives the highest quality of care. Additionally, as a founding member of the East Bergen Ambulance Association (EBAA), EVAC provides mutual aid to neighboring towns, fostering a strong volunteer movement in the region.
