Rooted in a tradition of care and compassion, CORA was established in 1971 as a non-profit, community based social services, educational and youth development agency providing a broad range of psycho-educational services to more than 20,000 children and their families each year. CORA, which stands for Counseling Or Referral Assistance, is a private, nonprofit, community based organization, whose programs and services are available to all. CORA's staff serves children and families in more than 65 non-public schools, more than 25 public schools, one city recreation center, and two community centers. CORA's provides families with individual, group and family counseling, educational & remedial services, referral assistance, community drug and alcohol prevention education and treatment programs, GED training, job training, after school programs and adult enrichment programs. CORA also operates a licensed preschool and child care program. The company is headquartered in Philadelphia.
