Hai Chen, M.D., Ph.D., is a neurophysiologist and epileptologist (seizure specialist) at Weill Cornell Medicine. After earning his MD and PhD and performing ground-breaking research, Dr. Chen completed his internship and residency at UT-Southwestern Medical Center from 2010-2014. He then completed Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy fellowship at NYU from 2014-2016. He joined the faculty in the Neurology Department at George Washington University where he was promoted to Associate Professor of Neurology in 2021. He has also conducted studies on optimizing anti-seizure medications and neuromodulation in epilepsy patient care. His publication record includes multiple papers from his research study in major scientific journals. Dr. Chen has also been the principal-investigator for an anti-seizure medication clinical trials at George Washington University. He has also served on committees at the American Epilepsy Society and as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. He has been an invited speaker to discuss seizure treatment at the national neurology conference. He is also an advocate for seizure patients and served as a board member of the Epilepsy Foundation, DC Chapter.
