DCF Regional School-Cape May Campus

The Cape May County Special Services School District operates a range of academic and enrichment programs. The district focuses on the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of students. It conducts activities for the enhancement of daily living skills. The district administers a variety of therapeutic intervention and vocational training programs. The Cape May County Special Services School District governs the Ocean Academy, which serves children suffering from physical and learning disabilities and visual or hearing impairments in kindergarten through grade 8. The Ocean Academy administers early childhood and special education programs. The Cape May County Special Services School District also governs Cape May County High School, which enrolls students in grades 9 through 12. The district operates the Community Aquatic Program.

Ocean Academy is an educational facility that provides programs for children with special needs from 3 to 13 years. The academy serves children with a range of disorders that have stemmed from physical and learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, developmental delays, and cognitive, visual and hearing impairments. It offers a special education program based on the High/Scope curriculum for its preschool students. In addition, Ocean Academy provides programs for children with multiple and emotional disabilities and autism spectrum. The school also offers an extended school year program. Its staff includes speech and language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, teaching consultants and school psychologists. Located in Cape May Court House, N.J., Ocean Academy is a part of the Cape May County Special Services School District.

Middle Township High School offers a range of academic and enrichment programs. The school operates special education programs and provides guidance counseling services. It offers classes in English, science, foreign language, social studies and mathematics. The school also provides lessons in fine, visual and performing arts. Middle Township High School operates Spanish and Bible clubs, as well as a student council. The school provides opportunities for various sports activities, such as football, soccer, cross-country, hockey, tennis, basketball, wrestling and baseball. Middle Township High School has a media center. The school also offers classes in hip-hop and jazz dance. It is governed by Middle Township Public Schools.
