History

Initially opened in Bedminster under the name The Dance Conservatory, Dance Center of NJ (American Dance, LLC) relocated to Far Hills and then Bernardsville in search of a bigger location. Directed by former professional dancer, Karen Verso, and Artistic Director, former American Ballet Theatre Principal, Edward Verso, the school is dedicated to the highest quality of teaching standards. Acknowledged locally for unparalleled personal attention and expertise in technique and alignment, the school has recently opened in Califon, NJ. The Versos now limit their focus to teaching a select number of motivated students in the beginner through advanced levels and adults.

We have become the go to school for students seeking personal attention or private lessons to fix alignment and technique issues. We also specialize in ballet for skaters. Over the past 7 years, Karen has developed a curriculum that removes the superfluous elements of ballet class and focuses on rapid results designed for skaters with time constraints due over the past 7 years. All students, whether they are professionally bound or dancing for pure enjoyment, receive the guidance and support they need to excel.
