Children's Institute

The Children s Institute, located in Verona, N.J., is a private, nonprofit school affiliated with the New Jersey State Board of Education that serves children with physical, mental and social challenges. It provides services to people of ages 3 to 21 years. It is an orphanage and shelter that offers social services, and community and special education classes. The center organizes various programs that include treatment of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, autism, pervasive developmental delays and Asperger Syndrome, and preschool study programs. Its behavioral disabled program organizes academic programs, including reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, study skills, family life, health and safety. It is approved by the National Association of Private Special Education Centers.
