History

Charlie's Bar & Restaurant is a Somers Point landmark, a neighborhood tavern and restaurant that's been serving up good eats and your favorite beverages in a friendly atmosphere since being opened by Charlie Thomas in 1944. People come from all around the region to enjoy their famous chicken wings, named Best at the Shore by Philadelphia Magazine, as well as filet mignon and prime rib. Charlie Thomas's grandson Jack Thomas runs Charlie's with sons Jimmy and Jeff and long time manager Lisa Mell. Bartender Wes Moore has a sandwich named in his honor. Wes's Favorite is 6 ounces of sliced filet mignon topped with melted provolone, lettuce and tomato on a toasted garlic steak roll.

Specialties

Charlie's Bar has been part of the landscape in Somers Point since Charlie Thomas opened it as a classic corner bar in 1944. These days, it's the fourth generation of the Thomas family who carries on the corner-bar,

Great atmosphere for a chill night. Food was excellent. Our server was so sweet and patient. Would recommend for a date night or a low key dinner with friends.

Great bar with good reasonable food. Best wings around. Friendly service. Can get very crowded especially during eagles games. Have been going for over 50 years and have never been disappointed.

Definitely some of the best wings around. Cooked so darn perfect and the tail gun sauce is mild but has just a little bit of heat, which is actually perfect. Could almost be too hot for some...

This was my first time coming to Charlie's. I came here with my family. The rum bucket was tasty and strong. The seafood platter came with an insane amount of crab and was very good and delicious....
