Ocean Academy is a small therapeutic school that offers educational services to students that need a more structured, nurturing environment to reach their academic and social goals. We work to successfully transition students back to districts or to successfully complete graduation requirements. As part of Bright Harbor Healthcare, we work collaboratively with students, their families and school districts to provide support and services. Ocean Academy’s cornerstone is its therapeutic component, which offers the student and their family psychiatric and therapeutic services and support from our clinical team. We develop and implement an individual treatment plan to improve academic functioning while working on any underlying concerns that maybe impacting school performance. The goal is to help each student achieve his/her full positive potential, which is facilitated by a “hands on” intensive, structured, positive approach. Educationally, Ocean Academy works closely with the sending districts to plan and implement the students plan with “highly qualified” teachers and staff that are committed and trained to work with students that require individual needs. They provide for a variety of educational experiences to give every student a chance for success. All students are selected for admission based upon a review of records, meeting with the sending school district, parents, family members and most importantly an interview of the student. The selection process is rigorous to ensure that students, families and sending districts agree that Ocean Academy offers the student the best opportunity to be successful based upon their current needs.
