Brian Katz, MD is part of Summit Healths Gastroenterology team. Dr. Katz is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has practiced in Central New Jersey for over 15 years. His area of expertise allows for evaluation and treatment of digestive conditions such as heartburn, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, hepatitis, and cirrhosis. He specializes in advanced procedures such as colonoscopy, endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and hemorrhoid banding. It is extremely important to Dr. Katz that he is able to share his medical knowledge and skills in order to enhance the health of others, and he is very interested in helping patients with nutrition and eating habits that promote better health and digestion. Health care is a team sport, he says adding, My goal is to engage my patients to become active participants in their health care so they will work toward important changes that will positively impact their well-being. When not caring for patients, Dr. Katz enjoys gardening, traveling, and hiking. His favorite time spent outside of work is with his wife raising their three daughters.
