Barnstable Academy, located in Oakland, N.J., offers educational and extracurricular programs for children in grades six through 12 and conducts a wide variety of seminars, summer youth camps and church organized retreats. Started in 1978, the school s extracurricular activities include Knowledge Bowl, Family, junior-senior banquet, senior trips, state fine arts and academic competitions, band and choir concerts and National Honor Society. It regularly organizes an array of social events, such as musical concerts, alumni banquet, donkey basketball game and field day. Barnstable Academy s curriculum includes mathematics, English, science, foreign languages, history, geography, economics, music and arts and crafts. The school offers a number of sports, such as girl s and boy s basketball, cheerleading, baseball, tennis, badminton, swimming, soccer and softball. The school is accredited by the National Independent Private Schools Association, Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation and State Education Department of New Jersey.
