Applegate Farm
(2)
Applegate Farm, located fifteen minutes west of New York City in Totowa, NJ, has been a cherished destination for fresh dairy products since 1848. Known for its nostalgic charm, the farm features the original farmhouse that played a role in the Civil War and an authentic tile silo built in 1919.
Originally owned by the Sigler family, Applegate Farm gained prominence under Julian Tinkham in the late 1800s, who preserved its historic atmosphere. With innovations from Frank Oliver, including the first ice cream cone, the farm flourished, and Donald Littlefield later expanded its reach into the wholesale market, introducing new products to the metropolitan area.
