The Strand reopened in 2015 as a performing arts and entertainment venue. We are the only venue in Dover "WHERE THE STAGE COMES TO LIFE" . The Strand reopened in 2015. We were approved as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in 2017. We are a Veteran owned and operated community-focused business in downtown Dover, N.H. We are the 3rd oldest operating theater in NH. Our charitable initiative includes veteran groups, giving opportunities for musicians to perform in a venue, and supporting music and theater programs in schools. Our giving initiative donate to a charitable organization every month. We have been bringing the experiences of comedy, fashion shows, dinner theaters, murder mysteries, live theater, dances, and music performances. Since 2017, Break A Leg Legally has been the Strands house community theater performing live theater throughout the year. Recently, the Strand is proud to be awarded by New Hampshire Magazine 2023 Best in NH eclectic performance space.

I like this place it has...... Movies. Not only that if you live nearby and know the area you would know it has a secluded ally type of parking lot that's great for finishing up that " cigarette"...

I'm a big fan of the Strand. Call it nostalgia if you must, but going to a movie in an old theater like this (even if it doesn't have the amenities of newer theaters) feels comfortable.
