History

The doors of Sawyers Jewelry officially opened in 1946 when my father Jack C. Sawyer purchased a small jewelry store at 628 Main Street in downtown Laconia, NH. My family's involvement in the jewelry business dates back to 1908 when Jack's father, Alexander Sawyer, who shortly after arriving in America became known as one of Boston's finest watchmakers. Jack apprenticed with his father and became an efficient watchmaker before journeying north to Laconia. With my loyal staff, some of whom have been with me from the beginning, and almost all of whom have over 15 years experience in the industry (most of it with Sawyers), we continue to grow and serve our customers, providing the best service and fine jewelry.
