In 1964, Bob Boisvert Sr. had a breakthrough idea standardizing air conditioning in new homes that had oil-fired warm-air heat. With a contract to install these systems into a 60-home development in Nashua, he partnered with a local plumber and a Nashua oil dealer to form Malone's Associated Services Incorporated ( later to be abbreviated MASI ), and went to work. In the late 60s, Bob Sr.'s partner left and his son Bob Jr. joined the business, bringing with him knowledge of the trade and a commitment to growing the young company. He started by working out of the plumbing and heating store Bob Sr. had also established, at 36 Otterson Street in Nashua, catering to the do-it-yourselfer and small contractor who required product and/or advice on installations. In the early 70s, a second son, Ed, also joined the business. As it continued to thrive, Ed established a second store, in Milford, to better serve the developing communities of the Souhegan Valley. By the mid-1970s, MASI Plumbing & Heating was one of the largest plumbing and heating companies in southern New Hampshire, installing plumbing, heating and air conditioning in many new home developments throughout the greater-Nashua area. When the region's building boom tailed off in the late 80s, the customer base shifted from builders and developers to homeowners, and the focus of MASI Plumbing & Heating became service, renovation and bath remodeling. Over the next half-dozen years, as housing stock continued to age and new people moved into older homes, remodeling took on greater significance for the company. As the demand for better bath lines increased, the ability to display them became critical. In early 1995, Ed Boisvert suggested the concept for the company's first bath showroom. Geri Boisvert was enlisted to realize the concept, and in January of 1996, Splash opened for business, at 33 Main Street in downtown Nashua. Under Geri's guidance, Splash quickly grew in size, from 600 to 1, 200 square feet, and then to its current size of 5, 000 square feet. Splash offers southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts a highly-diverse selection of fine decorative plumbing and hardware, top-quality service, and competitive pricing at all budget levels. In 1998, a third generation joined the family business, when Bob Jr.'s son, Bobby, also known as B-3, became a member of the MASI leadership team, refining the company's focus to full bath renovation, in addition to the company's traditional sales and service of residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems, gas piping and indoor air quality. Bob Jr., Ed, Geri, Bobby and a dedicated group of hard-working people now make up the MASI Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning and Splash Bath Showroom family. After more than 40 years in the industry, however, the business still maintains its original focus as established by the founder a "one-stop-shop" for all plumbing, heating, air conditioning, bathroom design, sales and installation needs. Masi Plumbing deserves 5 stars. I called them with a broken grey water pipe. They came out promptly to fix it in just two days. The plumber was knowledgeable and did quality work at a fair price....
