As a pediatric surgeon, I care for children in a family-centered, respectful, and age-appropriate environment. I emphasize child-centered communication. The child's well-being is always at the center of my care. I ensure that my patients and their parents or guardians understand and agree with every step of the process and care plan. I enjoy working collaboratively with children, their families, and their care team. As a team, we care for children of all ages with many types of surgical problems. We've treated premature children who weighed less than a pound and teenagers who were taller than the surgeons. I also have a special interest in surgical oncology and trauma, which both involve collaborating with many different team members. Ultimately, my goal is a smiling child with a happy family. It is an honor to take care of children. Receiving parents' trust to operate on their child is a significant responsibility and gift.

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive cardiovascular care. I carefully listen to my patients and offer thorough evaluations and treatments, providing close guidance in managing chronic heart problems. My motivation to enter cardiology stems from the field's complexity, which allows me to make a significant difference in my patients' lives, helping them feel better and live with more energy. I emphasize optimizing overall cardiovascular health and preventing future events through lifestyle counseling and risk factor management. Recognizing the crucial role of families and support systems, I encourage their active participation in the care process. I measure the success of my care by the tangible improvements in my patients’ quality of life, whether it’s helping them feel better after a heart event or preventing adverse cardiovascular health events. The positive feedback I receive, especially when satisfied patients recommend my services to their loved ones, reaffirms the trust and rapport we've built together.

I appreciate so many aspects of cancer care and women's health. My patients consistently say they feel like they are in competent and skilled hands, and that I put them at ease. The patient's goals drive a successful outcome, within the boundaries of what we can do. If a cure is not possible, I try to help my patient identify what goals they may have and balance that with what is possible. As a gynecological oncologist, I research and apply for grants to find the best solutions for my patients. My patients and their families offer perspective to my life every day. I see families rally around their mothers and wives in a way that is touching and inspiring.
