The best outcome for me is when a child or family leaves a clinic visit or hospital stay feeling heard, understood, and empowered to handle their unique heart health. It's an honor to see children grow and accomplish amazing things, and I'm grateful to be a part of their journey. I know healthcare can be tricky, so I'm here to support the whole family as they interact with the healthcare system and handle new diagnoses or life-changing events. A positive patient experience is central to how I practice medicine; I like knowing kids of all ages look forward to seeing me and they trust that I'll support them through whatever comes their way.

My goal is to help my patients understand their diagnosis and the medical challenges they face. I work with them to identify their health priorities and understand their treatment choices so that we can develop a management plan that is tailored to their individual goals and desires. I invite my patients to share with me their concerns and their understanding of their health. I really want to know what they are hoping to achieve when they come for medical care and want to ensure that they receive evidence-based medical care that is aligned with their needs. I will always respect my patients' right to privacy, but I encourage my patients to include their loved ones in their medical care. Family and friends can be a great source of support during medical appointments and hospitalizations and when managing health care at home. Working with my patients to use our expanding medical knowledge and resources to positively impact their lives is very rewarding.

I tailor my approach to each of my patient's unique needs. I listen to patients and give them an opportunity to tell me their story. I take time to answer questions. I try to provide education and be as thorough as possible when I provide recommendations. My journey into medicine was fueled by the desire to directly impact patients' lives. Specializing in gastrointestinal (GI) medicine allows me to address issues that can have a large impact on a person's day-to-day life. Patients find reassurance that there is a plan in place. I'm here to support them and they have someone to reach out to. When I can see an improvement in a patient's quality of life and prevent a bad outcome, that feels rewarding to me. I enjoy being able to diagnose problems, offer solutions, and witness tangible improvement. It's a privilege to make a positive impact on patients' well-being and to provide them with the care and support they need to thrive.
